VP of Human Resources for Newly Established Automotive Tier 1 Manufacturing Plant in Alabama
A German-headquartered automotive tier 1 supplier required support with identifying and selecting the future VP of Human Resources for their newly established manufacturing facility in Alabama. The spec called for an individual with previous exposure to European business culture and significant experience in building and growing HR organizations in manufacturing environments. Furthermore, the client wanted someone with a strong track record of managing and developing a local workforce in Alabama as well as a background in successfully driving employer branding campaigns and trainee/apprenticeship programs. TH Bender identified and approached a total of 35 suitable candidates across North America and presented a slate of 4 finalists, all of whom met or exceeded client expectations and were locally based. The search was closed in under 75 days and resulted in the placement of an experienced HR leader with a strong track record of establishing new teams and leading employer branding efforts against tough competition from bigger competitors. As a result of our placement, the company was able to put in place a world-class hiring strategy coupled with a strong outreach and recruiting program that put our client ahead of the game in the war for talent in a heavily contested region with a dearth of skilled labor.
