Development: From no land rights to 500MW under development

Our client is the Board of a publicly traded developer. Realizing that the Texan market (esp in the Panhandle) offered the opportunity for strong Return-on-Investment ratios the company decided to develop a half gigawatt of projects from Greenfield through permitting and pre-construction phases. Lacking regional and local knowledge our firm was tasked to find reliable land agents to secure land rights, local legal resources with deep connections in the region and developers with a track-record completing Greenfield projects. Within 18 months land and transmission rights were secured and the required permits to construct obtained. The company was able to sell the projects and realize more than the forecasted returns.
